Food & Beverage, Together

Megan Recce is your neighborhood classically-trained cook and WSET-certified wino who loves to write (and talk!) about bringing people together through a shared meal. She previously worked as a food editor for SavoryOnline, culinary producer and food stylist for Food Network digital and television shows, as well as for Netflix's Snack vs. Chef. Most recently, she spearheaded the relaunch of Eataly Magazine, a digital resource for Italian culture, cuisine, and producer highlights.

Her passion for food started from a young age — her parents have footage of her proudly announcing at a kindergarten ceremony that when she grew up, she wanted to be a chef. Following this dream, she attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration with the Dual Degree Program to also graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. At Cornell, she fell in love with the world of wine, taking classes in Viticulture & Enology, Beverage Management, Beverage History. She was a teaching assistant for multiple semesters for the famed Intro to Wines class and earned her Introductory Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers as well as her WSET Level 2 later in her career. With her deep love of wine, she was awarded the R. C. Kopf Student Achievement Scholarship where she traveled for 6 weeks to California, France, and Italy to meet with famed wine producers, including St. Francis, Louis Jadot, Taittinger, Michele Chiarlo, and Tenuta San Guido.

Her heroes include Ina Garden, Samin Nosrat, and Erin McDowell, to name a few. She lives in New Jersey with her husband.

As her favorite wine teacher said, “You don’t need to be
an expert in wine, you just need to be an expert in what you like.”

Cheers!
